1940s World War II Makeup Tutorial | History Inspired | Feat. Amber Butchart and Rebecca Butterworth
Join us in Dover Castle’s wartime tunnels as we show you the important role the humble makeup kit played during the Second World War. Dover Castle was on the front line of attack during the Second World War, and from 1939 the tunnels housed the command centre for naval operations in the English Channel. There were many women in service stationed here during this time, and among those were the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS), otherwise known as the Wrens.
